Are you interested in gaining more experience conducting research in psychology?
Are you interested in topics related to the pedagogy of wisdom, bicultural identity and student outcomes, or interparental conflict following separation and divorce?
If you answered yes to the questions above, then the SHARP lab might be the right fit for you!
Note, I do not accept students simply based on performance metrics (e.g., academic performance). I accept students based on their intrinsic passion for the work they are doing and desire to learn. We all experience challenges, and that is okay. Having the higest GPA or most previous research experience is not what I am looking for when accepting students. I want to provide research opportunities for students that have not had these, yet, and I care more about your goals and desire for growth. If you approach me with a thoughtful discussion of the work you want to do and why, and are committed to your work, I will do my best to work with you if I have the capacity (I can only take on so many students at a time).
I am currently accepting research assistants to help with archival data coding for my line of work on post-separation abuse. I am also accepting students to assist with the development of pedagogical activities to facilitate exploratory reflection and to assist with a larger project examining the application of policy initiatives to public education initiatives focused on diversity and antiracist practices.
I am accepting PSY405&406 Independent Project Students for the fall 2026/winter 2027 term.
